The best restaurants in Courchevel

You probably already know that Courchevel is a “mecca” not only for skiers and party-goers but also for gourmets, since it has some of the best restaurants in the Alps, with renowned chefs and Michelin stars. And although most local restaurants specialise in French and Savoyard cuisine, you can try whatever you like here. You just have to pay for it. Mountain restaurants are especially popular in Courchevel, and the most sought-after of them is Le Bel Air, at an altitude of 2,050 metres. You can get there on foot or on skis. Many call it the best in the valley, because it offers not only superb food with a varied choice of dishes (the signature Savoyard omelette is worth the trip!) and wonderful views from a magnificent terrace, but also quite affordable prices. It is very hard to get a table: seasoned visitors who return year after year are joined constantly by new customers, so booking is a must. It is one of only two restaurants with an open terrace, so Le Bel Air attracts not only gourmets but also lovers of panoramic views. Visitors leave exceptionally positive reviews of this restaurant, especially praising the food and the attentive, friendly service. It is worth adding that the second most popular mountain restaurant in Courchevel, Cap Horn, is next to the altiport. It has a nautical theme and also has a spacious terrace. But its haute cuisine comes at such prices that after studying the menu, many people start thinking it is time to go on a diet.
