Those who have already heard about this place gladly come down here from the highest village, Courchevel 1850, by car or bus.
The decor and atmosphere are typical of down-to-earth Courchevel: skis and sledges on the walls, wood and stone everywhere, heavy wooden furniture and the inevitable fireplace.
The cuisine at Le Caveau is simply superb: besides all the Savoyard classics, such as tartiflette, raclette, fondue and meat cooked on hot stones, you can also try specialities such as fondue with tomatoes, with morels or with porcini mushrooms. The chef will delight you with his signature starters, soups and appetisers. And Bruno, the restaurant's long-standing owner, will treat you at the end of dinner to a glass of his own homemade génépi.
For lovers of Savoyard cuisine we would single out the signature dish «poelée savoyarde» – if you love cheese and are not afraid of calories, you will not regret it!
La Table de Marie, Courchevel 1650
The name of the restaurant means "Marie's Table", but do not let that put you off: she cooks very well:)).
The place is right in the centre of the village. You need to walk a little uphill from the tourist office, or, the other way round, go down 200 metres from the pistes if you decide to drop in for lunch.
The restaurant is quite large and has several rooms, so do not rush to take the first table you see: pick a corner to your taste. There is no glamour here, everything is very relaxed, both in the decor and in the ambience.
At lunchtime, the nice thing about Marie's is that you can quickly refuel on carbs before more skiing: pasta, bruschetta, pureed soups, tagliatelle, pizza. In our opinion, this restaurant makes one of the best pizzas in Courchevel!
La Fromagerie, Courchevel 1850
Located on the right-hand side at the entrance to Courchevel 1850, this Savoyard restaurant is reliably good and moderately expensive.
The interior of this two-storey place (the second floor is in the basement) is done in a typical Savoyard style, with red cushions on the chairs and benches, matching red napkins, an inviting fireplace, candles on the tables and soft, cosy lighting. It is a great choice both for a romantic evening for two and for a small, friendly group. You will find dishes to suit every taste: all the Savoyard classics, well executed, plus meat and fish dishes, salads and desserts.
