How the resort sits in the Alps

Courchevel is part of the Les 3 Vallées ski area together with Méribel, Val Thorens and Les Menuires. It is one of the largest linked ski areas in the world: lifts connect the valleys, and you can ski from one resort to another.

The resort itself consists of several villages at different altitudes:

  • Courchevel 1850: the highest and best-known village, with top-category hotels, restaurants and boutiques;
  • Courchevel Moriond (1650): quieter, with its own direct access to the slopes;
  • Courchevel Village (1550): a small village linked to 1850 by a lift;
  • Le Praz (1300): a village in the forest where the lifts up begin;
  • La Tania and Saint-Bon: quiet villages in the lower part of the resort.

Above the village of 1850, at an altitude of about 2000 metres, is the altiport, a small airstrip for private planes and helicopters.
